• Glitter Gel Pen Book Club is a Sydney-based book club and social club for women in their 20s and 30s. We host intentional gatherings across Sydney’s most sought-after wine bars, restaurants, and creative spaces, providing an excuse for like-minded women to slow down and connect offline. Our events span book clubs, private screenings, listening parties, and social catch-ups for women looking for more considered ways to spend time in Sydney and connect with like-minded women. At our core is a simple belief: content doesn’t need to be heavy or highbrow to be meaningful. We embrace the feminine and the so-called “frivolous”, championing feel-good fiction and lighter forms of leisure, because life is serious enough. We’re here to romanticise it.

  • You can join GGP via the sign-up form on our homepage. Along with our Instagram, this is the best way to stay across upcoming ticket releases! Tickets are sold through Humanitix, a not-for-profit platform. You can also join the conversation in our Facebook group or our Book Yaps IG chat.

  • Glitter Gel Pen Book Club was founded by Sydney sisters Brittany and Ellese Ferdinands, academics who’d rather debrief a plot twist over a glass of pét-nat than pretend to exclusively enjoy highbrow classics. Alongside their best friend Katrina, they set out to create a book club that didn’t take itself too seriously, but still brought smart, passionate women together to connect, unwind, and romanticise life. That’s how GGP was born.

  • We read feel-good romance novels, the kind that sit firmly in the glitter gel pen space — embracing femininity, frivolity, and unapologetic joy. As a Sydney book club for women in their 20s and 30s, we’re here for light, escapist reads (no anxiety-core books here). Life is hard enough; why cry for leisure?

    • Supper Club Series: Our signature dinner-party experience, built around good food, natty wine, and finally trying those cute venues saved in your notes app. Expect prompts and worksheets, but the vibe is intentionally more flowy and relaxed.

    • Sip Series: Smaller, more intimate, and a little more structured. Perfect for focused discussion, with curated questions, cosy conversation, and nibbles and wine instead of larger set menus.

    • Studio Series: From ceramics and Pilates to bouquet making and craft workshops, these pair our monthly read with a creative, tactile experience. Great for first-time guests who enjoy having something to do as they settle in.

    • Streaming Series: For when pop culture is the main character. Think album listening parties, finales, and watch nights, followed by real-time debriefs.

  • Yes, most of our girlies come solo. Glitter Gel Pen Book Club is designed as a welcoming Sydney book club and social club where it’s easy to meet like-minded women and make new friends.   • Ticket prices vary depending on the venue, but we always aim to keep our Sydney book club and social events accessible and great value. Each ticket covers your food and wine, GGP goodies, group booking fees, and all the behind-the-scenes planning that goes into creating a seamless, beautiful experience, plus a few wholesome hours of connection and escapism. Let’s be real: being a girl who loves dining out, collecting books, and maintaining a social life in Sydney isn’t cheap. That’s why we run GGP for the community, not for profit. And the cherry on top? Humanitix booking fees go 100% to charity. Thank you, you generous queen 🍒

  • You can receive a full refund up to 14 days before the event. After this, refunds are only available if your ticket is successfully resold.Tickets resold by GGP after this period incur a $10 admin fee to cover promotion and processing. To avoid this fee, you’re welcome to resell your ticket yourself via the GGP group chats or the Humanitix resale platform. To resell on Humanitix, open your confirmation email, click 'Manage Order', and select the 'Resale' tab. Once your ticket is sold, refunds are processed within 2–5 days.   • By coming along to a Glitter Gel Pen Book Club event, you agree to the following:

    • Attendance is voluntary and at your own risk.

    • We can not take responsibility for any injury, loss, or damage at events.

    • Please be kind, inclusive, and respectful to everyone.

    • Photos may be taken; let us know if you’d prefer not to be included.

    • If an event is not held at a licensed venue, you’re welcome to bring your own food or drinks.

    • In the rare occasion an event is rescheduled or cancelled, we will give you as much notice as possible.

    • Full refunds are available up to 14 days before the event. After this window, refunds can only be issued if your ticket is successfully resold, either by you or by us.
